My Story
My introduction to essential oils began with my obsession with soap making. As I became obsessed with learning everything I could about making soap, I came across ingredients called essential oils time and again. First I considered them as natural alternatives to synthetic scents. When I read about their beneficial properties, I was a little bit skeptical. The more I read, however, the more I became convinced that plant oils were nature’s medicine.
Five years ago I was only partially convinced, but I invested in a nebulizing diffuser with the hopes that it would help keep my family a little healthier. At the time, I worked in a pediatric health care practice and have school aged children so we are constantly exposed to germs. After five years, I can honestly say that we have not only been sick less frequently, but when we do get sick it is less severe and of shorter duration. And I don’t even run my diffuser every day! I am now wholly converted to the powers of essential oils. Even my husband, who would normally not give alternative medicine the time of day believes in that little diffuser.
My passion is learning all I can about essential oils and sharing what I have learned, hopefully in a way that is informative and sensible. I have a large collection of aromatherapy books, both classic and modern and have also taken the Aromatherapy Certification program with the Pacific Institute of Aromatherapy and courses with the Tisserand Institute. In all of my studies, I noticed that most aromatherapy sources focus on topical application. This is odd considering the wide variety of diffusers available. I started this website in 2013 because I had a hard time finding information specific to diffusion; I wanted to provide a resource to help others, while also promoting the safe use of essential oils.
I would love to hear your stories about diffusing essential oils. Feel free to drop me a line, or leave a comment on any of the articles on this site. Thanks for stopping by!

The steam doesn’t seem to one out of the spout like it did when I first started difussing. I paid way to much for this beautiful difusser. I can’t find my owers manul. Can you help me with some trouble shooting
Marcia, sorry to hear that. Do you know what brand/model of diffuser you have? Does it take water? If it is waterless, you may have a clog. If it does use water, it may be defective. If it is not working well after just 2 weeks I would contact the store you purchased it from and see if you can exchange it.
